LIGHT DIFFUSION
- The FlexyPlant will decrease your heating costs significantly because it covers more growing area with less surface area exposed to the elements. It is totally double air inflated. Virtually any heating system can be incorporated into the structure.
The lens shaped roof and special glazing materials
allow more evenly diffused growing light to reach your plants throughout
the day.
VENTILATION
- By using our optional pest screens and incorporating double door entrances, you can create a structure perfectly fit for biological control.
The shape of the air pillow roof allows for highly
effective and even, natural ventilation. Hot air rises, and while it rises
and exits the structure through the open roll up curtains, cooler outside
air is drawn into the greenhouse to replace it. Wind is not necessary
to achieve this ventilation - wind only adds to this natural effect.
- The multiuse features of the FlexyPlant allow it to double as a packing shed, production area, and material handling facility - all in one structure.
DRY CLIMATES
- By incorporating connecting buildings you can build FlexyPlants a mile long, or complete complexes covering square miles.
In hot and dry climates a row of fog nozzles are placed
on each side wall and soak the windward side insect screen - forming an
evaporative cooling wall. Outside air is drawn into the greenhouse, is
cooled and in turn cools the structure.
- Temperature zoning of the structure is accomplished by multiple computer controlled side curtains. Normal side curtain lengths are 200+ ft.
HUMID CLIMATES
- The price of a fully erected and computerized FlexyPlant is the same as most manufacturers charge for simple kits. In hot and humid climates the installation of our wind-maker
system exhausts air from the pillow in 10 foot increments. This increased
air flow in the structure enhances the natural ventilation effect. Shading
systems are also effective in this regard.
